In the year 1969, the Vice President for Academic Affairs was appointed to monitor the teaching and learning of the Faculty of Business Administration, the pioneering faculty of Assumption University.

As time went, more curricula were offered to match the advancement in technology and to meet the needs of the business community as well as the economic and social development of the nation. This led to the opening of more departments and faculties and the recruitment of more faculty members of different nationalities. To accommodate and provide service to the academic units, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs was established in 1977 with the following objectives: to coordinate, to promote, to support and to assist all academic affairs activities and issues for the achievement of academic excellence and the fulfillment of the vision of the university.
